We noticed how time consuming this was becoming for everyday business operators. They needed a solution to get them back to spending their time on doing the thing they loved.

The Unified Solution

Process

Being a start-up, our process was extremely ad-hoc. We began by satisfying a very base need of SMEs: a well-designed, information serving website. As our expertise grew and we began to understand more precisely the needs of our clients we released more pain relieving services.

Result

This agile growth technique resulted in the creation of what we called the Unified Solution. It entailed a full service system for SMEs, including: an iOS & Android application, a responsive website with integrated eCommerce capability and a combined social media marketing campaign.

In additon to our Unified Solution, we consulted a number of larger businesses on digital growth strategies and functional software solutions.

Process

Bigger projects were initiated with a workshop. We utilised user-centered & design-thinking tools to get to the crux of our clients problem. Development and testing was deeply integrated with our clients & end users to ensure an effective final product.

Result

Beautiful & valuable functional solutions. Working with industry leaders & high-profile clients we harnessed emerging technologies and trends to create income generating (Sharon Blaine) and productivity increasing (Coles) software solutions.

My Role

Connected Apps was founded by my brother in 2012. I joined him in 2013. As such, I was there for the entire journey & was involved in all parts of the business. This included business strategising, marketing, programming, client-facing workshops & sales.

Achievements

Connected Apps served as an extremely important learning experience. We gained expertise in dealing with clients, delivering projects within deadlines and creating products that just made sense. At the height of our business we had 263 applications on the App Store.
